Journal #18: Goodye! Congratulations!

hello, everyone

Time goes so fast. It is end of this semester. It is really an challenging for all of us to study in ALP, is not it? I can see we all do our best to study this semester. Also, I am so happy to meet all of you this semester in composition class. I think we all have a good time in this class.

For me, It is challenging to study composition of this semester. But I am feel well that we can improve our skills of writing and have a good experiece of writing that is beneficial for us to learn in colleage. I think you may have the same feeling as mine.

I hope all of you can dreams come ture. Having a good plan of your life in America. Sometimes, I am imaging what we will be five or ten years later. I hope we all in a good position at that time.

Journal 16: Confucius Quote

Confucius was a Chinese thinker and social philosopher, whose teachings and philosophy have deeply influenced Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese thought and life. Also, today more and more people interested in Confucianism. He has a famous quote said "Find a job that you love doing and you will never have to work a day in your life." . I think it mean you should find the thing that you like to do and interested to do, then you can enjoy it and do not feel tired or boring.

It is one of the Confucius word that once we know the meaning and can do like this, then it will very helpful in our life. Just like, when we play games or see something that we like, times goes so fast and we will feel comfortable and joyful. In constrast, if somebody aske us to do what we do not like, we may have the feeling of hate, angry, and dislike. So as this word mean. I like this word , but I think it is really hard to do. So I rather to say that try to enjoy what you do now. Find a way to help you to enjoy and interested in what you do. I saw a movie a couple of days ago which is based on the real person. He is an methemetics and he always think of original idea of his study. Thought he have mental disorder, but I can feel he love his work and struggle to do his work. He is very enjoy and intereted in his job, then at last he surmount the difficuties and received Noble prize. It is really amazing.

For me, I do not what is good job for me, but I rather want to try to enjoy and make me happy to do the things around me.

Journal 15: Analyzing an Argument

In this article Beatriz Fernandez argue that it is freedom to marriage or not and it is more important to find a people that make you happy than a man to marriage. After her sister marriage, family members began to tell her it is her turn now (par. 1). But her first priority is graduating not marriage. She argues that we should have freedom of marriage which the claim of truth which appeals to emotion. she think the study is more important than marrige for her now, and she believe that people should concentrate on finding someone to marry instead of finding someone who makes them happy and who they feel comfortable with(par. 8). I am agree with her view point. I do think people should go with traditional thinking. nowadays are different from old day. People are more activity and emotional to do the things they like, and we have the freedom to do like that.Isn't it?

Journal 14: Anticipating Your Parents' Objections

Dear Mom and Dad,


I know you so worried about me to go to the Las Vegas. But Vegas is not as bad as what you here in the media. As I am not child now, I want to have freedom to do what I like and I think it is good chance for me to travel.

Las Vegas is one of the famous place in the world, though many people say it is very dangrous there. It just takes 5 hours to go there for me when other people take a long plane to go there. There are so many travler from all over the world to go to Las Vegas everyday. I always think it is better to see once than hear 100 people say to me. Also, there are the people everywhere and I go there with friends, so do not so worried about that. You afried that once I play the gambling there, I will fascinated in it. I promise you I will not play that game. I know it is easy for people to attract by the games there, but I will not touch that machine, believe me.

I just want to have a look the reason why people like to visit there and why Las Vegas is a famous place in the world. So do not worry about me, I will take care of me. I am so happy to read your letter, though you disageree me of my travel. Hope you can change your mind after you read this letter.

Jim Giles is a reporter for the San Francisco bureau of new scientiest. He writes about science, politics and the environment. He point out there is a team analysis that water crisis would not arrive until 2025, it is happening now. Hundreds of scientists from more than 100 different institutions contributed to the study. There are many countries especially Africa are have series water crisis problems. One-third of people are living with water crisis in the world. I want to find out how serious they are and what is happening with water shortage.

Journal 11: Research Question

I choose water shortage as my topic for this research paper. The motivation that I want to choose this topic is I was so shocked after I saw a grogram about the water shortage in Kenya.

Honestly, I did not realize that water crisis is such serious in some countries. Also, there are many people can not drink clean water in the world. Their dream is to drink clean water and far from desease while we have many water waste in many cities. Also, because of water crisis in this areas, it caused social problems like crims of woman and children. For most of them, they need to go a long way sometimes a day to get water which is gray water. It is really hard to imagine.

I want to write a research paper about it that many people can pay attention on it. Think about those poor people, think about our future life, I think at least we should learn to save water.
